Thanks for the comment. This is available but not currently through any
of the dialogs. I myself use this feature and as I added it to AbiWord,
I probably should walk you though the steps.
After AbiWord had been installed an intially ran, you should be able to
find a file called AbiWord.Profile. Generally this is located in the
windows directory under AbiSuite subdirectory. Search the hard disk for
it.
You should be able to open this file via a text editor or even AbiWord
itself.
If this file there should be a couple of lines that look like this
<Scheme
name="_custom_"
/>
change that to
<Scheme
name="_custom_"
ZoomType="Width"
/>
and you are all set to go. Next time AbiWord starts it will have a
default zoom.
