Hello Alan,
> I definately think that any language that wants to be added to the list, > should be added to the list. Being included in OpenOffice or Micrsoft > Office certianly suggests that there is a reasonably sized userbase out > there who might want thier language included. That was my original proposal on the IRC, whatever that gives freedom to the end-user to expand the current support of languages for me its an enhancement. Dom point out that was not possible for some reasons, including that the list of languages is localised in every language, then we agreed that I was going to look into which main languages where missing and we will add them. I put together a table with the languages that Open Office and Microsoft are currently supporting to help us to decide which languages are missing. We definitely have languages missing that should be added. > I urge you however to rephrase what you have been saying. To say Abiword > "supports" these languages I think gives the wrong impression. This > allows for people to use dictionaries and translations of the GUI for with > Abiword if they exist, or add them if they dont, and in many cases they > dont. > At least by adding these languages now it will save you having to so later > if and when someone comes along and wants to add support for them. Well, if you can find a better expression to make it more clear I have no problem using it :-), remember that English is not my native language and sometimes I do not have the level of detail that I would like to. Adding the languages is good for lots of reasons that we already know, and there is no point enumerating them. Adh mor ort! -- Jordi Mas http://www.softcatala.org
