Hello Again All:

FYI I solved the problem. I had done a spell check on the document and had
told it to ignore some words. It created a snippet at the top like this:

<ignoredwords>
<iw>word1</iw>
<iw>word2</iw>
<iw>etc</iw>
</ignoredwords>

When I removed this sections the document opened and diplayed fine. I guess
I will not be making full use of the spell-check feature.

I hope this information helps someone else. I will try to remember to log a
bug if I can figure out how to use bugzilla!

Here is the version information if anyone is curious:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<abiword version="0.7.14"  fileformat="1.0">
