I don't use Abiword very much for editing, being a LaTeX user, but Abiword is my weapon of choice when it comes to reading documents that people send me in MSWord format. I realize that probably my request has more to do with wv than Abiword proper, but (until footnotes are supported in Abiword's native format) I'd find it more useful if footnotes were merged inside the document rather than appended at the end, maybe with an outcome like:
blah blah blah[FN: this is a footnote] because otherwise it is difficult to know where the footnote text belongs. At least, I'd like to have an option to go that way instead of the current behaviour. Apart from that, I'd also like to see an option to translate tables to tabbed entries, but that would be more complicated, wouldn't it? (I understand working with tables is a very messy affair and I am not complaining about that being postponed). Anyway, AbiWord is a great piece of software. Thanks to all developers.
