In all honesty, I could've been a lot harsher quite easily.

http://www.rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=libgal

Wait, isn't libgal7 is the first thing listed on that page. Hrm...
funny, that.

Wait, there's more. I typed 'libgal abiword' into google and got back
some interesting results:

Hrm... this looks like one of many existing answers on the web too,
because this problem isn't unique:

Also, a `ls -l /usr/lib/libgal*` would probably list several libgals.
Maybe a `ln -s` might solve things for you too, but I suggested that in
my last email.

Hardly obscure. Evolution, Nautilus, and Gnumeric need it too. Hrmm...
add that to Abi and 4 industrial-strength apps need it. Funny how we all
depend on obscure libraries that no one seems to be able to find.

Grow up and learn how to use your email client. I don't pretend to be a
nice guy all of the time, and my reply was quite public. I am never
sneaky, in part because I don't have to be, but it also doesn't fit with
my persona. For better or for worse, I tend to respond in kind - if your
email was nicely worded, you would've just gotten my standard "hi dave!
try rpm -Uvh --nodeps abi*.rpm" response. I also told you that if you
wait a day or so, Ximian would release RPMs easily usable by you (which
they actually did yesterday...) But instead, you got what you deserved
*and* I gave you several answers after a sound and thorough chastising:

If you don't like getting burnt, I suggest that you stop playing with
matches.
