More follow up, to be certain you get the correct drivers to allow for user input with the scanner contact your barcode scanner vendor.

They probably supplied a semi proprietary software with the device: however most of those allow the drivers to operate openly with most Windows based programs.

Sure, we use bar code scanners all the time.  You will need to get the bar code fonts onto your machines, but then it is just a matter of reading the fonts.

First of all.. Hi People.. i'm new in this group..

i have a question.. i want to create a database where i have all my
items of a warehouse..

i want to implement a new inventory procedure where i can use a
barcode scanner (Intermec 2410) that would compare the information on
the database

i would a Track number (this number is a unique number that another
system gives the item) and the location as the primery fiels to use!

my question is!! can a scanner be used to interact with access??
