G'day Andrew and Doug I can confirm that I have a Dell Latitude D620 laptop with an HD audio card that works fine for both Windows XP and Linux (Dual Boot).
For linux, I install the latest Beta ALSA drivers. I simply use the OSS audio device within RAT and everything works fine. Cheers, Jason. -----Original Message----- From: Douglas Kosovic [mailto:dougl...@itee.uq.edu.au] Sent: Wednesday, 2 May 2007 2:44 PM To: ag-t...@mcs.anl.gov Subject: Re: [AG-TECH] Audio trouble at AG2.4 Andrew Rowley wrote: > The realtek HD card doesn' t work with AGTk yet (nor do any HD audio > cards). On WinXP, the SoundMax and SigmaTel HD onboard audio work with rat. The Realtek HD audio appears as 3 mixer devices with the Windows volume control mixer application : Realtek HD Audio output Realtek HD Audio input Realtek HD Digital input rat doesn't currently support audio devices that appear as separate input and output devices. With Windows Vista, all sound devices now appear as separate playback and recording devices, so rat doesn't work with any soundcard on Vista. Doug
