On WinXP, the SoundMax and SigmaTel HD onboard audio work with rat. The Realtek HD audio appears as 3 mixer devices with the Windows volume control mixer application : Realtek HD Audio output Realtek HD Audio input Realtek HD Digital input rat doesn't currently support audio devices that appear as separate input and output devices. With Windows Vista, all sound devices now appear as separate playback and recording devices, so rat doesn't work with any soundcard on Vista. Doug
