Hello AG-Tech,
I am considering building a portable Access Grid single machine node. It will run under either XP or FC4. I would greatly appreciate any experience and specifications regarding your design. Feel free to plug your finished product with web links visually highlighting the technology. Here is what I am considering. *The portable node will be designed around a cart on 4 wheels. The cart is similar to a racked "cabbage case" used in the portable sound equipment. *Rack mounted LCD Screen for the node computer. *Clear One RAV900 will provide speakers, microphones, and echo cancellation. *Two PTZ cameras and two tripods. *One Rack mounted computer with audio and video capture cards. *Two 2200 lumen projectors. *Rack mounted UPS. *Cabling. Nothing as yet will be wireless as this is cost prohibitive. ?? Am I forgetting something? The most expensive portion of this node hardware is the projectors. This design will support 20 participants locally. After deciding on the node hardware, the next major design consideration is the AG cart. The projectors will not be permanently mounted and I have chosen to avoid having projectors on tripods due to easily being knocked over. I would like to integrate a way of housing them on top of the cart itself and somehow be moved around in an x, y plane. Some sort of mounted framework would need to be built for the projectors. Does the AG-Tech have any construction suggestions or words of caution in addition with sharing your latest portable designs or room node designs? I greatly appreciate any information.
