Car, Thanks for input. Assuming there are no objections, we'll clarify the language as you suggest.
Regarding relations, it is one of several additional topics that could be added as time allows. - Brian Brian Cragun IBM AbilityLab Consultant Human Ability & Accessibility Center www.ibm.com/able & w3.ibm.com/able W:(720)-663-2801 H:(507)288-2437 From: Carolyn MacLeod <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Cc: [email protected], IA2 List <[email protected]> Date: 06/04/2010 08:51 AM Subject: Re: [Accessibility-ia2] IA2 Implementation Guide ready for review Sent by: [email protected] I disagree with the first sentence after the intro: "All objects must, at a minimum, provide the IAccessible, IAccessible2, and IServiceProvider interfaces." Can we please change it to something like: "In order to provide enhanced accessibility using the IAccessible2 set of interfaces, an object must, at a minimum, provide the IAccessible, IAccessible2, and IServiceProvider interfaces." Objects have a choice - they can just let the MSAA[UIA] proxy do the work (which is often all they need), or they can provide some extra IAccessible stuff, or, if they want enhanced accessibility, they can provide UIA - or IA2. Technically, if an object wanted to be everybody's friend, it could provide MSAA+IA2+UIA. :) Note also that in Eclipse, relation objects provide *only* IAccessibleRelation. But I don't think that negates your statement, because relation objects aren't really "accessible objects" - they're just little "implementation detail" objects <g>. This IA2 Implementation Guide doesn't discuss Relations at all - it there a follow-on document that will?
