Hi Aruni, If you buy an original cartridge, it will be expensive. But there are good cartridges produced by other companies like Amkette. These can be used quite safely. Go for a cheap model unless you want photo printing and so on. I once purchased an Epson ink jet printer for 1700. It came with a cartridge. If you do not use the printer regularly, the cartridge becomes dry and has to be replaced.
