As a part of welfare and rehabilatation for
visually handicapped,
there is a lot of scope. I am highlighting some of
them.
1. Employment:
It is known that govt. provide 1%
reservation to VH in govt
sector. Similarly, reservation should be provided in
private sector.
Although some companies are sensetized toward this but
it should be binding
on all private companies to employee at least one VH
in their companies. I
know govt. cannot control the recruitment process of
private sector but
India as mixed economy, govt. can regulate the
activities of a private
sector. So, govt can achieve this
2. Rehabilitation
In order to rehabilate handicapped gobet
should provide financial
assistance without interest. VH have less mobility as
compared to sited
people. So, they connect them with whole world via
computers. internet. So,
govt. if possible provide concessions in telephone
billing. I know 50%
concession is provided but it is on rent. This is very
old scheme.
Concession on whole telephone billing should be
provided because internet
billing is included in telephone.
I hope govt. will definately look into these
matters and will work
upon these sugestion seriously.
