hello, of course internet can and is already a source of self-employment. as you have yourself mentioned freelancing is a service which is coming to indians. it can be in any area of your own expertise.
there are people who offer their services for all kinds of writing. remember these are not the people who have got the project. they write for someone else and therefore the write-ups do not bear their names. they work for someone else. accordingly they get part of the money for the project. there are others who get the project and work themselves and also share their burden of work within their own network of people with required expertise. as far as the economics of this work is concerned, as a person working for money and not name, that is, the first category mentioned above, the starting amount is modest. ..although it is subjective as to how much is enough, but surely it is not huge. you've got to make yourself known and you get work only through your own network of people already getting projects. this beginning step can take you miles although start is modest. it can be a part time job for some and for others a good opportunity for self growth and expression. know your interest first and test your talent/ ability to start and then stay in this business of freelancing on the web. it surely is interesting but deadlines are killing. for example, you may be required to finish 5 articles on the same topic based on SEO in a matter of 4 hours with modest rewards! hope this helps. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gaurang Kanvinde" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, October 07, 2006 01:32 AM Subject: [AI] employment and internet > Hello friends, > > I would like to know if anyone on this group has sought self employment > on the Internet.
