That's perfectly acceptable. But, the foremost difficulty we face is to identify which are genuine and which aren't. How do we do that? Any ideas?

I did some searching on the net, and found quite a few portals which are a market place for buying and selling services. They have certain mechanisms in place by which sellers are assured of their payments, and buyers are assured of their work getting done. In general it works like ebay, with which we are all familiar. These sites also have a reputation system, by which good buyers and sellers earn good reputation, which of course, reflects positively on their incomes and trustworthiness. So when you start off, you don't have a reputation, so your remuneration is not the best possible, but as you work your way upwards, you improve and so does your income. I tried to find out if anybody had used the sites. I found a few people from IIT who had. And they seem to have earned between 10-20K in a month! Mind you these guys didn't have any reputation points to start with! Well, if these kids could do it, anybody can! The experiences related by some members are unfortunate, but I think they are not a feature of the Internet alone. Quite a few companies (often shady) don't pay their contract workers for work done. So I guess there is always some risk involved, but there are also ways and means to mitigate that risk. Given all this, I feel the Internet is still a good place to find gainful employment, irrespective whether a person sighted or blind. But at least, there is no "awareness on part of employer" factor to contend with. And its a truly level field. Comments invited.
