Dear Mr. Roy:

The following are details I require for my report about NIP's IGNOU
course:

What is the expansion of NIP?
When you speak of serving the visually challenged, is it restricted to
those in WB or, if a visually challenged person is willing to come from
Karnataka, will you be able to help him/her (i.e.) will you allow the
student to participate in the IGNOU course?

Also, pl give me some background of NIP, such as, who founded it? In
which year/how long the organisation been around? And How many visually
challenged has it reached so far? Etc.

I need these information as early as possible, as I have already started
working on the article.

With Warm Regards,

L. Subramani

Hello Friend,

NIP is a Non-government Voluntary Organization, which is engaged in
different educaitonal and social activities and committed to promote
value based ideology in this decaying moral set up. Our organization has
been taking up programmes for socially, economically backward and
physically challenged segments of the society.

Computer is the latest gift to us and is crating miracles in every
sphere in our life. So, now a days computer education is essential for
social advancement. But in this situation there is no Government
recognized computer training centre for the visually impaired and
physically challenged persons. So, they suffer a lot in facing various
situations. Keeping this reality in mind, we have been running a
programme of computer education for the blind. We have approached Indira
Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) for a computer course for the
visually challenged and physically challenged persons. And we are very
excited that IGNOU has approved a Special Study Centre, No. 2868D and
the session will begin from January, 2007.

This will be a unique programme as there is no such course. Successful
implementation of this programme will help the visually and physically
challenged persons to add a new dimension to achieve their goal.

Your best wishes and kind co-operation will be very much oblilged in
fulfilling our dream of Non-discrimination, Integration and
Participation.

  Thanking you,
