The course has rigorous amount of practical exercises and especially gives exposure to exceptions which will occur in real life situations at work. Apart from computers, students also develop English, analytical skills and self awareness.
We have also taught students who come from a rural background and they have shown the same level of intelligence as anybody else and have a real desire to learn. The objective of that course was difference. It was for providing literacy and using computers as a tool for secondary education. We have developed two modules for teaching basic computer skills. One, is executed 6 hours a day for three months, six days a week & the other for 2 hours per day for five months, six days a week. So why should you have 6-8 months? Further, we developed multiple tests during these modules. Tests, as you are aware, are crucial for assimilation of knowlege. Further, our criteria is - a working knowlege of English, typing speed of 25 words per minute & have passed std 6. We have easily handled students with a rural background & most students had been motivated enough to brush aside the difficulties of hearing an american accent while they could barely speak the language.
