I too use cellular data network via mobile hotspot which appears as a Wi-Fi access point on my laptop. Most likely that you to connect either via a Wi-Fi hotspot, USB Tethered hotspot, Bluetooth tethered hotspot or alike. Select the correct type when connected and you should be able to see the target connection in the list.
