Dear list members, Many of us bsnl brod band users may faceing the problems regarding internet connection like slow connectivity or often getting dissconnected from the data one connection. But many of us do not know that we have to make some configurations in the lan property to make the the connection better. Now I am going to tell you those configurations. 1.go to start, settings, Control panel and select network connections. If you are using the modem on lan card, then select local area connection. Or if you are using the same on USB port then select local area connection 2. 2.Press alt enter on the selected connection. The connection property dialog box will be open. on the genral tab, select the internet protocall tcp/IP. Press tab for 2 times and you will be on the property button. Press the space bar on it. Here is a group of radio buttons. from that group select a radio button that says use the following IP address. Press tab and in the box of IP address type, 192.168.1.100. Press tab and you will be in the box of subnet mask. here the vallue should be, 255.255.255.0. This is the default vallue. Remain this as it is. Press tab once again and you will be in the default getway box. Type the following in it. 192.168.1.1. Press tab for 2 time and it will ask you for prefered DNS. Type 218.248.255.145. Press tab again and it will ask for alternet DNS. Type 61.1.96.71. Now Press tab and press enter on OK button. Now observe the performance of your connection. But Please note that this conffigurations will work only and only on BSNL connection. If you are faceing the problem of dissconnection, then you will have to install the windows security update package which I have with me. If anyone wants the same, you can contact me of list.
