(Barendrecht, NL and St. Petersburg, FL, USA - July 30, 2018)
Freedom Scientific is pleased to announce its partnership with IT
Foundation for the Visually Impaired - INFOALAP in Hungary, to provide
the world’s most popular screen reader, JAWS®, and screen magnifier
ZoomText®, at no cost to individuals and organizations throughout
Hungary.
This important milestone follows similar announcements to provide free
access to JAWS and ZoomText: in 2014, by the Colombian Government for
all citizens of Colombia; and in 2016, by ONCE in Spain for all ONCE
members. With today’s announcement, individuals and legal entities
that educate and employ visually impaired persons, will gain free
access to these assistive technology products, each with over 25 years
of history, improving access to Microsoft® Windows® and the
applications they wish to use.
"Working closely with our partners, we are excited to expand the reach
of fully localized versions of JAWS and ZoomText to users in other
countries. We have had a presence in Hungary in the past, but this
agreement will greatly enable access to our empowering technology for
all Hungarian citizens," explained Miguel Abdo, Vice President,
Software Business Division of VFO™, the company behind Freedom
Scientific.
