Very disappointed to see the approach, our first focus should be to develop our own skillset rather than seeking exemption.
Like Vineet mentioned above, I have also appeared for many open book exams during my PG at IIM Indore and didn't feel that my vision impairment presented any extra issues. Some little extra steps like preparing print-outs with points marked as bold for the convenience of scribe, keeping my laptop in good condition etc, helped me compete at par with other participants.
