One important consideration should be, increase in the income tax
deduction
limit to 250,000 from existing 125,000. Along 5-10 % increase in this
limit
every year due to increase in the cost of living.

I think, we can demand the following:
1. Withdrawal of 5% gst on all products for the pwd, there is no
guarantee
that the producer passes over the benefit of input tax credit to the
end-users. Moreover, we are paying 5% gst on braille paper when braille
books are free from gst.
2. Disability pension to all pwd's below poverty line, particularly aged
people and women with disability, directly from the central budget
(state
governments seldom care for schemes like this),
3. Provision of assistive devices to the vi employees within three months
of
appointment (we have to wait too long for the boss's good sense)
4. Blind schools at all districts to provide special education to the vi
children (inclusive education is not enough for most of the vi children),
These are a few I can think of just now.

Subject: [AI] Suggestions for the Budget 2019-20 any idea?
Dear All
Just thinking about upcoming budget slated to be announced on fifth
July. And typing this mail to share my feelings all across! I feel we
have become little lethargic as far as consultative advocacy stands in
the current scenario?
Shouldn't we send suggestions to Nirmala Sitharaman for
disability-visual impairment specific concerns and challenges for the
fifth July Budget?
Do we blind people are happy with NDA's III fiscal/tax arrangements?
What about GST, and other export/import equipment concerns?
Where the hulaballoo about accessible coins gone?
And disability allowance available in Central Government
establishments is enough? does it not require revision for decades?
We should certainly engage with Mrs Sitaraman who is from JNU. wow!
Lets draft our suggestions on behalf of Access India, no?
Best
