I deem there is a need to create awareness of social inclusion in relation,
romance and love as well.
When we are making our efforts in overall social inclusion and mainstreaming
in every aspaect of our life, why to leave the area of relation and romance
then!
Smiles!
Thanks,

I agree that blindness does limit one's chances of being thought of as
potential partner.
I did not have any love inclination from opposite side except one in nine
years of my academically illustrious college life.
If you compare figures with my sighted counterparts, I would perhaps be
the last.
This is so, me thinks, because any disability, and more so the blindness,
makes a person static, and takes away dynamism.
By dynamism, I mean the ability to sense in real time ever changing
surroundings and react to them.
For instance, I never thought that in a film song, heroine appears in
seventeen different dresses, let alone admiring even one.

Sometimes, it may very well be unconscious bias. People may not even
realize that they are excluding someone as a potential partner when they
actually are.

Yes I also second this.
Strong reason is that since we do not make eye to eye contact they might
not be able to express their feelings and vice versa.
and first impression would be sympathetic when they see us with a stick
or escort.
That is why we cannot expect the actual true love feelings with the
sighted partner.
But still there are exceptional cases like many of us have got married to
the sighted partners but how many are love myrriages?.
Thanks and best regards,

Hi, all,
Based on your lived experience, is it true that being disabled increases
the likelihood of a potential partner only considering you a friend,
rather than looking at you in romantic terms? If so, why?
