I personally always book room at Tirupathi unless there is a reason to spend more time at Tirumala. I always prefer to book 300 INR ticket for darshan; although there are time slots for darshan facility for people with disabilities and elderly, they only help out till the security check is cleared and then they don't really bother guiding devotees for darshan and they mix up in regular line. So I personally don't think it's worth waiting for long hours in that compartment and get a feeling as if they are doing us a charity.
