First, several studies indicate that India has the largest population of blind people in the world, comprising around 20% of the world’s blind population. For far too long, this community has been left behind. Doing right by the disabled is a moral imperative. Second, making your platform usable by the disabled will enable you to access an untapped user base, thus expanding your footprint. It will not only give you a competitive edge but also position you as a real practitioner of equity for customer diversity and a disability inclusive business leader. Finally, given that accessibility of platforms for the disabled is now a regulatory requirement, taking these measures will help you discharge that regulatory obligation as well.
