I am starting my guide dog training here in the uS in 3 weeks and have been researching how they work. In short, there is no way they can work in India.
1. They need a side walk/pavement or something that is not a street to walk/guide you. They are not going to be able to work with the sensory overload with 2 wheelers, autos and what not on an Indian street. 2. There are too many stray dogs in India for them to be safe. Guide dogs are typically very passive and are not able to defend or even avoid getting into dog fights.
