Mani app works fine for me. It doesn't really take that long to identify the notes. I wouldn't say that it's instantaneous, there is a gap of 1-2 seconds. Also, Thanks Prashant for informing that it is available in NAB Delhi! Do we contact them through their contact info to ask to test the device or do they just kee them in their stationary? If someone has had experience in this then any information would be very helpful. Yamuna, as far as I remember, it just identifies Indian currency and you cannot upgrade currency specifications. The last time I had watched the video of this device, which was somewhere in September/October, I found it to be slower than the Mani app. It also speaks out the currency very slowly and that too in both the languages, I don't know whether we can avoid that or not. This was why I didn't find it to be very useful as it too would take a lot of time, plus, except small venders, there has been a large shift towards UPI which is far easier than carrying notes. Regarding Braille embossing on notes, I remember RBI had made an announcement regarding this, far back in around April, but haven't recieved any updates since then. There are some countries which do have Braille embossing on their notes and I am asuming that there too notes pass from hand to hand but this method is working; how is this possible then? Can someone also explain that cardboard device in a bit more detail? I couldn't understand how that works.
