Hello all,

Greetings!
dear team, please share any appropriate Email id to send below suggestion.
Dear IRCTC Accessibility Team,
I am writing to express my concern regarding the significant
accessibility challenges faced by individuals with visual impairments
when using the IRCTC mobile app on iOS devices. As a user who values
equal access to essential services, I urge you to prioritize
addressing these barriers to ensure an inclusive experience for all
users.
Several accessibility issues hinder the app's usability for visually
impaired individuals, including:
• Limited VoiceOver Compatibility: The app currently lacks full
compatibility with VoiceOver, the built-in screen reader for iOS. This
significantly restricts navigation, understanding of screen elements,
and independent task completion for users who rely on this assistive
technology.
• Insufficient Labeling and Descriptions: Many interactive elements
within the app are missing clear and accurate labels or descriptions.
This prevents screen readers from announcing their purpose and
function, leaving users confused and unable to interact effectively.
• Inadequate Color Contrast: The app's color scheme does not adhere to
accessibility guidelines for color contrast. This makes it difficult
for users with low vision to distinguish text and buttons from the
background, hindering their ability to read and interact with the app.
• Restricted Keyboard Navigation: The app does not provide a
comprehensive and user-friendly keyboard navigation experience. This
limits the ability of users who rely on keyboards for interaction,
potentially excluding them from essential functionalities.
These accessibility barriers create a significant obstacle for
visually impaired individuals, effectively denying them equal access
to essential travel booking services through the IRCTC app. This not
only violates their right to equal access but also represents a missed
opportunity to serve a significant segment of the population.
Therefore, I urge you to take immediate action to address these
critical accessibility issues in the IRCTC iOS app. This includes:
• Ensuring Full VoiceOver Compatibility: Implement comprehensive
VoiceOver compatibility to empower users with independent navigation
and interaction within the app.
• Adding Clear Labels and Descriptions: Provide accurate and
descriptive labels for all interactive elements, enabling screen
readers to effectively announce their purpose and function.
• Enhancing Color Contrast: Adjust the app's color scheme to meet
accessibility guidelines for color contrast, ensuring optimal
readability for users with low vision.
• Expanding Keyboard Navigation: Develop a robust and user-friendly
keyboard navigation system, allowing users to navigate and interact
with the app effectively without relying on touch input.
Addressing these accessibility concerns is not just a legal obligation
but also a moral imperative. By prioritizing inclusive design, you can
ensure that everyone has equal access to essential travel booking
services, regardless of their ability.
I am confident that you will take my concerns seriously and implement
the necessary changes to make the IRCTC app truly accessible for all.
I am also happy to provide any further information or assistance that
may be helpful in this process.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Maruti Paramwad
