Hi Friends, Anyone experimented with the Opera GX browser?
Apparently it’s nice for a few reasons such as: 1. Sounds can be assigned to keyboard events including typing, page loading complete and other things; 2. Apps like Whatsapp are integrated into the sidebar and so you can set up shortcuts to open the App easily; 3. There’s a load of configurability for keyboard shortcuts within the brogram. 4. You can configure the browser to assign and play audio and video using your favourite audio video player externally (still trying to find out if this is true), which would mean then you could use your preferred audio/video player that you find accessible. All of the above is according to my sighted sons, and they are still young boys of 14 and 15 years so they could be just over-enthusiastic as kids might sometimes be. But I am eager to find out how accessible it really is with screen-readers. I found that it does well with displaying the virtual cursor (Browse mode for NVDA users), and so you can effectively navigate web pages the usual way we do. Beyond this I am only newly experimenting. Anyone using Opera GX please contact me if you have any tips, and then I’ll also share what I am learning.
