Subject: Re: [AI] 100% Accessible Shopping App for Visually Impaired people:
Try the TAN App and Share Your Feedback

Hello Sir,

Thank you so much for your question. I’m really glad you asked about ONDC
because many people may not be fully aware of what it is and how it works. So
let me try to explain it in simple words.

ONDC stands for Open Network for Digital Commerce. It is actually a project
launched by the Government of India with the aim of changing the way online
shopping works in our country. Right now, most of us shop online using big
platforms like Amazon, Flipkart, Swiggy, Zomato and so on. These platforms are
like closed systems where both buyers and sellers are dependent on the same
company. For example, if you want to order food, you need to use Swiggy or
Zomato. If you want to buy groceries, you use a different app. So every
platform works separately and only shows the sellers registered with them.

The idea behind ONDC is to create an open digital network where any seller, big
or small, can join, and any buyer can access their services through any app
that is connected to ONDC. This is very similar to how UPI works. Just like UPI
allows us to send or receive money between different banks using any app, ONDC
allows shopping from different sellers using any connected app. This way,
buyers are not forced to use only one or two big apps, and small businesses
also get a fair chance to sell their products online.

One of the biggest advantages of ONDC is that it can bring better prices for
customers because more competition means better offers. It also helps small
shopkeepers and local businesses who may not have the money to create their own
app but can still sell their products online through this open network.

In the case of the TAN app that I shared, it uses ONDC to help us order food or
groceries easily and accessibly. The app connects us to the ONDC network, and
from there we can place orders without needing to go through the usual
complicated apps which may not be accessible for visually impaired users.

So in simple words, ONDC is the Government of India’s step to make online
shopping open, fair, accessible, and not controlled by a few big companies. It
is still growing, but it is definitely a very positive change for both
businesses and customers like us.

I hope this helps to explain what ONDC is. If you have any more questions, I’ll
be more than happy to help.

Best regards,

Omkar Pawaskar.

Subject: [AI] 100% Accessible Shopping App for Visually Impaired people: Try
the TAN App and Share Your Feedback

Dear Access India Members,

I hope you all are doing well.

I would like to share detailed information about a wonderful and fully
accessible app that has been developed keeping the needs of visually impaired
people in mind. The app is called **TAN**, and it allows users to shop for food
and groceries through **ONDC**—an initiative backed by the Government of
India—right from the comfort of their homes.

This app is **100% accessible with screen readers** and provides an inclusive
and user-friendly shopping experience for blind and low-vision users. It is
available on both **Google Play Store** and **Apple App Store**.

Here are some of the key features of the **TAN app**:

✅ **Shop on ONDC with ease:** Access the Indian government-backed ONDC platform
for food, grocery, and more.
✅ **No confusing offers:** The app helps you find the cheapest prices directly
without the need to hunt for offers or navigate through complicated deals.
✅ **Fully customizable appearance:** You can adjust font size, color theme, and
switch between light and dark modes for better visibility.
✅ **Optimized for screen readers:** The app works lightning-fast with screen
readers and even allows you to customize the type of information you want the
screen reader to read out.

The app developers are highly receptive to feedback and are constantly working
to make the app even better for our community. You can share your valuable
feedback through the **feedback option in the app’s menu (hamburger icon)** or
by writing to them directly at
[email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>

👉 **Download the TAN app from Google Play Store:
