Microsoft has released a significant update to the Narrator feature in
Windows 11, designed to improve accessibility for blind and low-vision
users. This enhancement uses artificial intelligence to describe images,
charts, and graphs in detail—even when alt text is unavailable.

Key Highlights of the New Feature

This advanced tool goes beyond basic descriptions by identifying and
explaining:
• People, objects, and colors
• Text and numerical content
• Trends in visual data, such as increases or decreases in stock prices

For instance, when opening a graph, Narrator can describe how values change
over time, providing a clearer understanding of the visual information.

How to Activate the Feature
• Press Narrator key + Ctrl + D to generate an instant image description
• The required AI model downloads automatically during first-time use
• Download progress can be tracked in Settings > Windows Update
• In scan mode, press G to move to the next visual or Shift + G to go back

Availability

This feature is currently available on Copilot+ PCs, with broader support
for additional AMD and Intel-based systems expected soon.

This update introduces a smarter, more inclusive way to access and
interpret visual content directly within Windows 11.
