I hear you but what is a startup supposed to do? They need to generate money to continue development. Not all startups have massive amounts of venture capital money flowing in. oculosense have now also released a monitoring system for all users. I do not know if it is accessible. I read about it on their website therefore they are at least trying to become sustainable. There was a discussion about home security on this list last year and this kind of system may help.
