Dear Access Indian's ,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am writing to seek your advice regarding a concern I’m facing in my
academic journey. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer
Applications (BCA) from SRM University, Delhi NCR (Sonipat campus), and I
am in my third semester of the second year.

This semester, our curriculum has introduced second language options such
as French and German. As a student with 100% visual disability, I am
finding it challenging to navigate this requirement and would greatly
appreciate your guidance on the following points:

1. What are some accessible ways or resources I can use to study one of
these second languages effectively?
2. Given the nature of my disability, are there specific tools, platforms,
or support systems you recommend for learning a foreign language?
3. Is there any provision for exemption from second language requirements
for students with disabilities? I recall that during my school years,
students with special needs were exempted from language subjects like
French and Sanskrit. Is there a similar policy at the university level?
4. After careful consideration, I am thinking of proposing to my university
that I be allowed to attend the language classes without being required to
maintain attendance or take examinations. I believe this would allow me to
engage with the content without the pressure of formal assessment, given
the accessibility challenges.

I would be truly grateful for any advice, resources, or policy references
you could share to help me navigate this situation. Thank you for your time
and support.

Warm regards,
Udit Pandey.
