A Landmark Step Towards Inclusive & Dignified Travel

In a life-changing move for Persons with blindness, #DEPwD and the Ministry
of Railways have signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding.

👉 The UDID Card will now be accepted as a valid document for availing
railway travel concessions by persons with blindness.

This will be enabled through API-based integration of the UDID database of
persons with blindness ( one of category under visual impairment) with the
Railway ticketing system, ensuring:

✔️ Seamless digital verification
✔️ No repeated paperwork
✔️ Faster, hassle-free booking
✔️ A more dignified travel experience

This is not just a policy reform—
it is a promise of accessibility, independence, and equal opportunity.

One Card. One Identity. Unlimited Mobility.
A step that will truly transform lives and make rail travel more inclusive
for Divyangjan with blindness across India.
