Dear Members, I hope you are doing well.
I am writing to seek guidance and collective support regarding an accessibility issue being faced by Visually Handicapped (VH) candidates on the SSC portal while applying for SSC examinations. I am currently applying for the SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL) 2026 and am facing difficulty with the Aadhaar-based face authentication process on the SSC application portal. Due to visual impairment, completing the face authentication independently becomes extremely difficult and inaccessible. The concerning issue is that despite SSC officially stating in its Notice No. HQ-IT018/3/2025-IT (E-10517) dated 08.10.2025 that: “Visually impaired (VH) candidates will be provided the facility of bypassing Aadhaar Face Authentication at the application stage,” the bypass facility is either not functioning properly or is not accessible to many visually impaired candidates. This issue is not only affecting individual applications but may also impact many visually impaired aspirants across India who depend on accessible digital systems to independently apply for government examinations. I request guidance from the community regarding: 1. Whether other VH candidates are facing the same issue. 2. The proper escalation process with SSC or the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. 3. Possible collective representation so that a permanent and accessible solution can be implemented for all visually impaired candidates. 4. Whether OTP-based authentication or another accessible alternative can be officially requested from SSC. I believe accessibility in government recruitment systems is extremely important to ensure equal opportunity and independent participation for persons with disabilities. Any guidance, suggestions, or support in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Regards, Gajender Singh -- Disclaimer: 1.
