booking system for the Disabled Quota (Divyangjan).Related results
I recently traveled from Delhi to Indore. I tried to book a ticket
under the Disabled Quota. The portal showed no seats available. I then
booked a waiting list ticket. This ticket was later confirmed under
the General Quota.
During my journey, I inspected the 3rd AC (B1 coach) seats 1, 2, 4,
and 5. These are the designated disabled quota seats. None of the
passengers in those seats had booked using disabled concessions.
Furthermore, I tried to book another ticket for travel on 1st October
2026. I logged in on 2nd August 2026. This was 59 days before the
journey date. Even on the 59th day, the Disabled Quota seats showed as
completely unavailable.
There is a clear pattern here. It appears these reserved seats are
being blocked artificially. They are then released or sold to general
passengers through agents at the last minute. This defeats the purpose
of the government reservation policy.
I have already filed a formal grievance today morning to IRCTC,
anybody suggest me other options what can be done for such problem
faced during ticket booking on Divyang quota.
