Hello,

I don't think there are specific instructions to this effect by any
regulator, however, certain Banks do offer various concessions to VI
customers. For instance, our Bank has special saving account scheme for
disabled customers. If anybody needs the scheme details, he or she may
contact me off the list. Similarly, few Banks also have provision of
waiving certain service charges in accounts of NGOs. Unfortunately, in most
cases, front office executives don't have any idea regarding these things.

Regards,

Chetan Sharma

Subject: [AI] Quary regarding the free services of DD/PO to the
visuallychallenged.

Hi Friends,

While discussing with one of my friend and the AI member, the demand drafts
or pay orders have free for the visually challenged people. I am not sure
about this service, but according to him, the Bank of India is providing
this facility to the visually challenged people. When I have contacted, they
were not aware about this facility offered to the blind. Please let me give
more information and the related circular which may be help me to get this
facility from the bank.

Regards,
Amjad Ahmed
