Respected,

As far as my knowledge is concerned there are no good OCR for Hindi.

I know about one OCR which is Chittrankan, developed in some ware
around 2005 by the C-dec, and government supported it.

The accuracy of OCRs is really unsatisfactory.

Secondly, if we get any OCR for scanning then I don't know any good
tool or the way through which we can convert the scanned material into
text.

Because like English we do not have any OCR which converts the scanned
material into the text automatically in Hindi. I also don't think that
there is any good way of converting Hindi scanned material in
accessible format which also provides accuracy.

If you wish to change the default synthesizer of Jaws,

Please follow these steps:

Open Utility Menue,
Then go to
Configuration Manager.

Now look for the menue "set options"

There you will find a dialog
 "synthesizers options..."

I think pressing up erro two three times will take you there.

Open that.

Exactly I don't know the option name I even don't have Jaws 9
otherwise I could have check it sorry for that, but Just look there
there will be some profile or default synthesizer combo box.

If still you did not find it then just write me, I will let you know any how.

I hope that not exactly but in some way these answers will help you.

Regards,
Amar Jain.
