The Victor Reader Stream is available for 195 pounds in the UK. The same
goes for the PlexTalk PTP1 (I think but not sure). I would also look at

These devices are good if you listen to a lot of audio books and would

to take short voice notes. You can increase or decrease the playback speed
of pretty much everything that you play on these devices. On a Symbian
Series 60 phone with Talks Daisy player or the Mobile DAISY Player from
Code
Factory, you can't play Audio Books which are a collection of mp3 or ogg
files. There is a free application from Nokia called "Nokia AudioBooks"
but
it has its own set of problems in addition to not being very accessible.

Victor Reader Stream seems to be an ideal solution if the price were
lower, especially since it has a built-in TTS to read text files too. I
understand NAB, Delhi was contemplating releasing a Daisy Book Player
which is accessible at much lower prices. Dunno what is the status of
that project.
Will be glad to get your recommendations, suggestions etc.
