It varries from brand to brand. For example, I use HP mini PC and it's
keyboard is just like a notebook. What they have basically done is to
remove the row containing insert/delete/page up/down keys. Instead of
these they have added additional functions to the function key. E.G.
Function+up aero = home, Function+ rite aero = End etc. I think
netbooks from now on will carry windows 7 and so for they mostly are
designed for Windows XP since Windows vista may be too much for an
intel adam processer. Since I have an external hard drive, I do not
require too much of internal hard drive and henceforth I chose one
with a solid space. It means that you will not have a moveing hard
drive there by minimising crashing of your hard drive. More
significantly, it is very lite and henceforth easy to carry.

Dear Friend,
1. The small keyboard of the netbook requires some practice in order to
get
used to the smaller sized keys. But once you are used to the keyboard,
working on a netbook instead of a normal sized laptop does not result in
any
additional strain.
2. I use the laptop setting with JAWS on my netbook. This setting seems
to
work better than the Classic Laptop setting.
3. I have used JAWS in combination with Office 2007 & Internet Explorer
simultaneously on the netbook. I did not experience any slow response
from
the netbook. My netbook has 1 GB Ram & the OS is Windows XP.

Hi folks !
Appreciate if you could share your experiences using Netbooks.
What I am specifically interested in knowing are :
1. Usability of the small keyboard. Does the smaller size tax us
too heavily in terms of strain to the fingers, especially if used for
long durations ?
2. While using Jaws, what keyboard layout needs to be configured
to give the best results ? (viz. laptop, classic laptop etc)
3. Does the lesser processing power of the Atom processor adversely
impact performance while running Windows 7, Jaws and MS Office
applications simultaneously ?
4. Any particular functionalities one needs to factor in while
making a buy decision.
Glad if you could give some specific model recommendations, with prices,
too.
Thanks and rgds
