Glad that you understand what "narrator" reads; perhaps you are sitting in a quiet room not in a big hall where there are at least 50 journalists making noise.

I certainly have found it useful when the other screen readers do not work. It is light on system, so when the other screen readers do not respond,narator could be useful. In my case, JAWS does not work in the windows logon screen due to some vidio intersept problem (JAWS even reads the characters in the password edit area), Narator helps me get around that problem. It is more light on system resources than even NVDA (which itself is quite light) Don't generalise unless you have made a thorough analysis of a software. Just because it is not good for you, it does not mean the software itself is not good. Go to the Wikipedia page of Narator where you will find the uses of it. One should not misleed others just on one experience. Narator is not the best screen reader, but it is better than not having anything at all.
