Subject: DAISY Planet for December 2009

Dear Members, Friends and Supporters of DAISY,

The December 2009 DAISY Planet is now available at:
http://www.daisy.org/news/newsletters/planet-2009-12.php.

I hope that the first feature article "WIPO Treaty: Conclusions Reached in
Overtime" gives you a sense of how important the WIPO SCCR meetings have
been this year and the commitment of those who have worked so hard to have
the treaty accepted. This issue is filled with positive news that
illustrates the dedication of the DAISY community around the globe.

I received one email with favourable comments on the new "Bits & Pieces"
section. It is handy as a 'catch all' for things I think will be of interest
to you. Please do let me know what you think of it.

This month's "Your Story" is by Vincent Spiewak. Vincent is the young
gentleman who developed odt2dtbook and odt2daisy (please read the article
about odt2daisy in the November Planet if you have not yet done so). Thank
you Vincent for sharing your story with us.

Thanks to each and every one of you who has contributed to the DAISY Planet
this year. It is your newsletter, and your input and comments make it
meaningful to our community and others interested in information access.

Wishing you all a happy holiday season and a wonderful, happy and healthy
2010!

Please share news and updates about your organization's or company's DAISY
activities with us by using the Contact Us form on the DAISY Web site
(http://www.daisy.org/contactus/ selecting the "DAISY Planet Newsletter"
category). Letters to the Editor are, as always, most welcome.

Please forward this email to everyone you know who may be interested in
reading about DAISY, the DAISY Consortium and other topics of interest to
the DAISY community.

All members of our mailing lists receive "The DAISY Planet".

Warmest wishes to all,
Lynn
