Hi Vikas,

I haven't read the procedure mentioned on the Dropbox site for retrieving
links to uploaded files, but here is the procedure I follow:
1. Paste the file you wish to upload into the public folder. I assume you
already know how to get to the Public folder.
2. Chek the upload status in the System Tray by activating the Dropbox
option.
3. Once the file has been uploaded, click on the Dropbox option in the
system tray. From the context menu that appears, select the Open Dropbox
folder option.
4. Move to Public folder and press Enter.
5. Browse through the files in this folder. Arrow down to the file which you
most recently uploaded and right-click on it.
6. Arrow down until you find the Dropbox Submenu and open it.
7. Press Enter on the Copy Public Link option.
8. The link to the uploaded file will now be copied to the clipboard. In
order to ensure that the link works, paste it into your browser and press
Enter. If the browser begins downloading the file, this is an indication
that the file has been successfully uploaded.
Note: If the upload is not yet complete, when you paste the link into your
browser and press Enter, Dropbox displays an error.

Let me know if this works for you.
Geetha

Subject: [AI] Retrieving dropbox files links

Folks, I've successfully created my account on dropbox and pasted a couple
of files into the public folder, however, I've never been able to retrieve
the download link through the procedure they describe on their website.
Would be grateful if somebody could let me know the easiest method to get
hold of the download link which we can use to send it to our friends. Also
would like to have this piece of information as to what exactly is the
process for the files to be uploaded (Technical info), means whenever we
paste a particular file into the public folder in order to be able to share
it, the file doesn't seem to be uploading from our computer, then how does
it host the files and make available for downloading even the source person
isn't online.
