Either your network operator has disabled this specific port. 2. Or your port is not set to '993'. For verification, please check the port number under incoming email settings. Select default port which is right now perhaps on default, tick user defined and see the text box. If it is 993 then leave it as it is. 3. The last reason could be that the imap server of gmail is down for few hours it happens in rare cases. In that case, we need to switch to alternative server. If that is the case, please let me know I will search the info on that alternative server. Regards Amar Jain. -----Original Message----- From: Asudani, Rajesh Sent: Monday, October 18, 2010 11:57 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [AI] how to receive email alerts on mobile in gmail Dear Amar Even after meticulously following all your suggested settings, my N82 gives the message: incoming mail server not found. Any suggestions, please? For that, go to your messaging option or if you have newer handset then look for setup wizard in tools. The configurations are as follows: Mailbox type: Imap. Incoming Mail Server: imap.gmail.com Outgoing mail server: smtp.gmail.com Once you have done with the normal email wizard, then go to connection settings of your gmail. There, make sure: Under incoming settings you have to select: security (ports) 'Ssl/TLS'. Under outgoing settings you have to select: Security (ports): start tls. Where it says port default, change it to user defined and put 587 in the text box. Configure all rest of the settings such as user name and password etc. Regards Amar Jain. -----Original Message----- From: bhavesh Sent: Sunday, October 17, 2010 10:39 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [AI] how to receive email alerts on mobile in gmail Hi friends, can any one tell me how can we receive email alerts on mobile using gmail, also tell me steps to do so, or provide me the link from which i can get this information. best regards, bhavesh. email: [email protected] skype: bhavesh.patel499 gsm: 9594597588.
