Dear All,
Facing one more problem while reading pdf documents. When we read some act,
there what happens is that few creators have this practice of inserting the
footnotes after the original text if it was amended subsequently.
To make it more clear, lets say information and technology act 2000, popularly
known as IT Act 2000, has been amended in the year 2008.
Now there is a section 67 which deals with pornographic content. Previously,
child pornography was not completely banned in India, but now after the
amendment of 2008, it is totally banned in the same section.
So now what happens is that the text of new amended section comes, then the
footnote number comes. So if a section is amended for the first time, it will
say “1”, which will appear as link.
If you click the link, you directly reach to that footnote text lets say in
above example 1, inserted by amendment act of 2008.
But then, what if you have lot many amendments in a section?
And, how do you come to the place where you were previously? in this example to
section 67?
If I read the text and then if I go on to read so many footnotes I am getting
completely lost.
Further, is word document better when you have to read text with footnotes in
terms of easier reading? Because I can get the same act in word/rtf format.
I am looking for a feature where I can listen to the text as well as the text
of the footnote there itself. So that the continuity of understanding things
remains and you don’t feel lost.
I googled also, but didn’t find any good answer.
Last but not least, the example used above was only to make things clear.
Kindly treat it as an example only.
Please do help, I am going mad.
Regards
Amar Jain.
