hey avinash! well, it works exactly as you said, whenever you receive any new message, talks says " unread sms" in the newer phones, you can directly open the received message from the standby.. and i think that is the problem with you. to check weather the message you have received, is new or old, you should go to the messages>inbox. if you view your inbox with this methad, then you will be able to see the read or unread notifications of the received messages.
