Hello Divendra

Somebody from commercial bank should be in a better position to answer you.

I personally did have salary joint account in different banks at different
point of time. I had not run into any trouble opening account in any of them.

Some Banks offer special privelleges like 0 balance etc to such salary
accounts. It is rediculous if they put restrictions in making a joint account.
In case you don't opt for such privelleges then there should be no problems
opening a ordinary joint account. There is no need even to inform the bank it
is a salary account. You can simply give that account number to your office to
credit your salary.

Regards
Harish Kotian.

Subject: [AI] Regarding making joint account in PNB

Dear Friends,

I have salary account in Panjab National Bank (PNB) here in my company
premises in Surat, Gujarat. I wish to make my account as joint
account with my wife. With that purpose, when I approached the bank
manager, he told me that a salary account cannot make as joint
account. Please guide me in this regard. Could you tell me what is
the criteria of making joint account? Isn’t it possible to make a
salary account as joint account? Is there any guideline or circular
in this direction?

I would be grateful, if someone throw some light on this matter.
Looking forward to hear from you.

Thanks in anticipation

With best regards,

Anil.
