please provide me your 16 digit pnb account. this 16 digit number contains a product code. if it is a simple saving account, you can make it joint. if it is other type of savings account, you can not. system does not allow to make such amendments. despite all, if the customer want to operate it jointly, a product code is to be changed by the higher user ID. the references given in various emails, may be they are having simple savings account and they are operated jointly. salary account does not require to keep minimum balance and up to some extent, over drawn facility may be given to the customers. in simple savings accounts, such facilities are not allowed. please let me have your 16 digit account. i will explore it from my branch and will let you know, whether it can be made joint or not.

thanks.

no! salary account can not be joint. if any manager or bank doing same, it
is against the rules. it is my personal advise to you, that you should open
a
separate saving account jointly with pnb. if a branch manager told you that
salary account can not be joint, he is right.

this is my first and final opinion on this topic, thanks.

Subject: [AI] Regarding making joint account in PNB

Dear Friends,

I have salary account in Panjab National Bank (PNB) here in my company
premises in Surat, Gujarat. I wish to make my account as joint
account with my wife. With that purpose, when I approached the bank
manager, he told me that a salary account cannot make as joint
account. Please guide me in this regard. Could you tell me what is
the criteria of making joint account? Isn’t it possible to make a
salary account as joint account? Is there any guideline or circular
in this direction?

I would be grateful, if someone throw some light on this matter.
Looking forward to hear from you.

Thanks in anticipation

With best regards,

Anil.
