Hi Srikanth,

Biometric system should be in place for verifying the authenticity of
thumb impression.  Banks have not yet started using it.

 Actually the importance of cheque issue is gradually reducing with
the advent of internet banking, debit and credit cards, NEFT, RTGS,
etc.  So, it's safe and convenient to use these alternative channels
of banking.  But having said all this, some people may still prefer to
use cheque, which is not at all wrong, as the computer literacy,
especially amongst blind people,in India  is still not significant.

But as members on this list are proficient in computers, let's discuss
the purpose of cheque issue in individual cases and explore ways of
solving the issues through other methods.
