MINISTRY OF COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (Department of Posts) (DIRECTORATE OF POSTAL LIFE INSURANCE) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 4th January, 2010 No. 45-7/CC/09-LL.-The President of India hereby directs that the maximum limit of insurance for physically handicapped persons shall be made equal with maximum limit prescribed under Rule 3 of POIF Rules and revised from time to time. Consequently, POIF Rules shall be amended as follows : “Rule 14(3) (e) (ix) Maximum limit of insurance for physically handicapped shall be Rs. 1,00,000 (Rupees one lakh) of sum assured under special scheme for physically handicapped” shall be substituted by “Rule 14(3) (e) (ix) Maximum limit prescribed under Rule 3 of POIF Rules shall be applicable to physically handicapped”.
