To add to your thoughts, while appreciating the initiative, this new product
clearly projects a mindset that generally exists amongst the World around
about the potential of the VI. There is greater need for dialogue between
the educated VI and industry on a more regular basis so that products are
designed on the basis of "what we can do, rather than what we cannot".
Further, I agree with Pankaj, industry must start thinking of wider markets
beyond the VI for such products in order to make their efforts sustainable.

Hi all,
While I appreciate there is some thought towards accessibility for
visually
impaired, but it would have been nice, if they would thought little
further
to see these phones are accessible to people who are not very education
and
may not like all featured phones. Frankly speaking, I think, those who
prefer to use a phone with English speech, at least, most of them prefer
to
use some sort of web browsing, GPS, music etc. Since off late, even data
charges are slowly coming down, perhaps, most people love to use them.
I think, while any company do think of assistive technology /
accessibility,
they should think, beyond VI and something that helps VIs to use in teh
same
way like anyone else and no special.
Just my personal thoughts.
